Has it really been that long since I blogged? Yep, it really has. So much has happened and I have been totally run off my feet the last few months. Yes, I KNOW it has been a long time since my last blog post! So here I sit in a feeble attempt to remedy the situation.
I had a fabulous time in the US teaching my classes. The ladies attending were all so wonderful and we had a lot of laughs. Some of the funny things revolved around the way I say things, or terms I use. I felt very Australian when it dawned on me how many times I say "don't worry, she'll be right" in response to someones percieved problem with their project. Discovered that I use the term "pop it on there", to indicate sticking down a piece but in the US, pop means pop dot!! Many times I had to clarify that it was when something was flat or raised. :) Plus there was some lively fun about my pronunciation of the word taupe!! Funny enough when I brought this up back in Australia, they all agreed with me......bwahahahahaha I do say it right!! Well according to Australians I do!
I was also able to meet some wonderful ladies during the classes! Like the gorgeous Steph Miller who is on the Education team with me. She is as delightful in person as she is online!! Meeting Mari Garzon was also wonderful after chatting to her on numerous occasions on FB as well. And I absolutely can not forget the gorgeous Gina who attended ArtVenture in January and came down from Northern California to attend several of my classes in Southern California! This is the equivalent of driving from Melbourne to Adelaide to do classes. I had such a wonderful time teaching in each of the stores and all the ladies were wonderful, we really did have some good laughs during the hours I kept them busy! LOL!
(This is the spot I was planning to add lots of photos of my trip to the US, however I have misplaced the thumb drive that Paul copied them across for me before I had a chance to save to my hard drive! Ooooppps! I don't want to ask him to copy them across for me again! :) This is the reason that I have taken so long to put up a post, hoping I would find the thumb drive and I could act as if I never misplaced it! )
So what have I been doing over the last few months..... teaching loads and loads of classes!! Here is a sample of some below.
The some tags focusing on metals
and keeping it grungy for a boy LO using one fo the above tags.
Loads of fun stamping in the background, as well as masking.
I also teach some quick technique classes at Paper Flourish - these beautiful Luminarte H2O Book paper flowers created using 2 Prima dies:
This was created from these papers I customised using the H2O paints:
and when there is so much fun colourful left over paint and sprays after all this mixed media creating, why not use the paper towel to create soem more fun flowers. Just add some cool stamping and a few dashes of mediums before creating. I have used some of Prima's resist canvas for the leaves. Love that stuff!!
So I presume you are getting the picture that I teach a lot of classes. This is only a few I have taught over the last couple of months, but I just can't overload the images on this post. I will leave you with this Art Journal Page I created for our Mixed Media classes at Paper Flourish.
I also created a layout for the Prima BAP challenge. It has been a while since I have been able to do anything for the Prima blog....
And a canvas
I am finishing this post up now, and uplaoding it as it has been almost 4 months since I have updated my blog! This post has sat in draft for a good couple of months, I think it is time it was uploaded!
