Ummmmm...

OK I am embarrassed to say that I have no idea about functions on my blog, but I had a lovely email from a lady who wanted to know how she could follow my blog, so I went in search of how to do it and FAILED on my own!  LOL!! I told you I am HOPELESS with this stuff!!  So I enlisted the help of DH who had it sorted for me in less than 2 minutes!  He makes me look even more dismal! LOL!  I should just ask a lot earlier but there is an element of pride in me, just a touch.  But there are times I need to swallow it and admit my defeat!

Martha Stewart Around the Page Punch Set 

• Step 1 - Stamp some flat Prim flowers using black stazon ink.  I have used a music and script stamp for two different effects on my "Sprites" flowers.

• Step 2 - Glimmermist up the flowers in complimentary colors to the papers.  I chose Tattered Angels Chalkboard Glimmermist - Cornflower, love that colour and it works wonderfully with these papers.

• Step 3 - Cut 2 from Londonerry paper, light blue floral (from the 6x6 part of the paper), 2 inches x 6 inches. Ink and distress edges. It is easier to slip these pieces in once you have the dark blue paper in place.
• Step 4 - Use a die cutting machine to cut out your cogs from Prima chipboard, paint white with gesso and once dry ink the edges with distress ink.
• Step 5 - Cut 1 from dark Blue Londonerry paper, 5 inches x 10.25inches.  Use your Matha Steward around the page punch set to create the decorative edge according to the instruction. Ink edges and stick down, ensuring you can slip the previously cut paper inder the edge at this time if you did not stick it down before. Slip any cogs under the paper as shown before sticking down.
• Step 6 - Cut out your tag and then cut it in half, ink and distress edges. Slip one of your blue flowers under the corner as shown before sticking down on the light blue paper as shown.
• Step 7 - From the 6x6 part of the mustard yellow paper cut 2 sqares 3 inches x 3 inches, ink, distress and stick down on the dark blue paper as shown.
• Step 8 - Machine stitch around the edges of the different papers.  I did this after I had stuck down all the layers.

• Step 9 - allow some liquid acrylic paint to drop onto your page from the end of a pipette, gives a little splash of colour and added interest to the page.
• Step 10 - Using Tim Hotz Distress Ink, rub over your mask to leave a wonderful masked effect on your paper, I used an older piece of Strawberry Kisses paper as it had a lovely subtle text and light background) then carefully hand cut out around the outside edge. I always leave a bit of the green showing on the outer edge when I cut.

• Step 11 - Once this has been cut out it can be stuck down onto your page as shown.  Don't forget to arrange your flowers under the areas as you go.
• Step 12 - Cut 2 strips one from the Londonerry paper, the other from the spotted page of a 6x6 Alla Prima book (you could just use a sheet of the spots from the Alla Prima Line) and cut v's into them, ink distress and slip under the yellow tag paper as shown.

• Step 13 - Finish off with your photo and other embellishments, including the new resins and some twine twisted around your hand or fingers to create the circles of twine. 

Try sticking two book end resins together to create a new look embellishment!

Finish off your flower centres with Primas new SIIC centres, they have a wonderful new texture to them and are perfect for finishing off flowers!

Little Bits and Pieces

I was very disappointed to not get any shots of Ashton and Cameron the other day, so I made it my mission to get a couple of good shots of the boys. Minus Lachlan as he was still "Cruising".  Not far from our house is an old ruin of a home, and although the walls have broken down to such a point as there are no high walls or window frames for the kids to sit in, I figured the ruggedness of it would suffice for some good shots.  It was a bit late in the day and the lighting was difficult, so I wasn't as happy with my shots as I hoped, but still the munchikins can look cute!

The pictures were taken later in the day, when the ruins were in shadows but the afternoon sunshine was throwing a glow across the foilage in the background.  Gives a nice effect.  At least this time, I had Paul watching out for daredevil Ashton who was still obsessed with climbing/running along these broken down walls.  

Look only 1 photo of the little Miss!! She was HIGHLY unco-operative! LOL!

Well enough pictures, on to Lachlans return from the cruise!!  Nothing warms the heart like the sight of excited little kids greeting their older brother at the airport.  That was one of those super cute moments!!  Lachlan had a wonderful time and only got a little bit sea sick on the last day when the seas were very rough.  A quell tablet quickly fixed the worst of it, which was good.

He assures me he had lots of fun!  Interestingly I heard a LOT about the food on the cruise! LOL!  Boys and their food.  When I asked him what his favourite part of it was and his response was that it was all "awesome".  Yeah that narrows it down! LOL! But you get the idea he had a fabulous time.  There was a formal night on the cruise and he had some pictures taken by the cruise photographer and he looks so grown up and handsome in his vest and tie!!

Such a handsome lad!!  Got to love him and how smart he looks in this photo!!

Onto Scrappy Stuff!: I was very lucky to have quite a few projects picked up in the last Prima Book that was released and I have never shared any of them here, so I will begin to share some of them with you.  It was so much fun to be a part of the book, amongst so many other fabulously talented Prima girls.

This layout was filled with so much stamping!  I stamped, glimmermisted and layered some flat Prima flowers and added some flower centres to create the flowers on this LO.  Look at how little my bubby girl is in this photo!!  One of my favourite pictures of her!
