The Other 4 Children

I know I can be very one sided with my photo shoots, so it was time to rectify that!!  On Camerons birthday I dragged him outside, with a few extra kids in tow and took some pictures. 

So here we go.... Cameron, love it when he smiles naturally and not the "fake smile" I often get from him!

Don't be fooled by this pensive looking Cameron!  This boy is ALWAYS full of energy, this must have been a very rare moment!  One thing that he insisted on was that I take some pictures of him in the tree at the front or our home.  The boys all love climbing this tree!

I actually quite like the different perspective it gives to the shot with him looking down at me.

Cam with his baby brother!  He adores his baby brother.  It is such a sweet moment, but you can tell from Cams pointed finger he was trying desperately to get Ashton to look at the camera!!

This was my favourite shot I took of Ashton!  How adorable is that face!!  He rarely looks at me when I have a camera pointed in his direction.  More often than not he will look the other way, so I find it hard to get really good pics of him.

See, not one single shot of him looking at me!!!!

Then their is the eldest of the brood!  He also is becoming increasingly difficult to photograph.  He doesn't object to his photo being taken, but he puts on a very very FAKE smile and I prefer to catch him in a more natural way.  When he was younger, he had the most photogenic face, so I hope we can work past the "fake" smile!

Then there is Ethan!  He LOVES having photos taken of himself.  Makes him feel special and it is a guaranteed way to get attention in this house!  

Then he managed to get in some shots with Cameron in the tree as well!

Finally Miss K joined the photos, but not on her own, just with her brother Ethan!! The moment this girl gets near a camera she has a remarkable ability to steal the show and even with Ethan in all the shots below, she just manages to captivate you with her character!!

Even that tiny little bit of her face captures your attention in this shot!  I actually love the way you just know she is aiming him up to plant a big kiss on him!

She made her mark!!!

Nothing like a good strangle to strengthen the family bond of love!!

How about this totally adorable shot!  I can not wait to scrap this picture!!  Actually I can not wait to scrap quite a few of these shots!  Might even manage a few boy pages! MIGHT! LOL!

Onto scrappy stuff.... I have  layouts to share!  I feel like I have once again been scrapping like a woman posessed trying to knock down all my deadlines.  I really do like feeling as if I am on top of things. So here are a couple of Prima pages I have not put up on my blog yet.

On this page I used the new Candy Gems by Prima. Got to love those gorgeous little candies! To create the elongated felt gate that is underneath my photo, I cut the gate in half and then carefully cut out a couple of the swirls from the centre of the gate (where I knew they would be covered by the photograph) and then carefully positioned them to fill the gap under and above my photo.  I love the way it looks like I had a really large felt gate! But no it was just a normal sized one, stretched!

I also created a layout using the new Cinderella vines.  These are so lovely to use as well, just add such a gorgeous texture and feel to the page.

Loads and loads of layers on this layout.  Once I had it designed it actually took me over 2 hours just to stick it all down!!  Things never go back exactly the same way you design them either! LOL!  I also have to say that this release of laces by Prima is by far my favourite ever!  There are so so so many gorgeous designs that I just love.  

Thanks to all of you who participated in the Color Room Blog Hop last week!  Because of all of you, the hop was an amazing success. 1.  I am from..Adelaide, Australia and I am currently Designing for..Prima & Aussie Scrap Source.
2.  I Live with.........My DH, and 5 kids, Lachlan, Cameron, Ethan, Kaitlyn and Ashton, and a couple of budgies!
3. On my desk right now you will find.......Flowers!! No suprises there, beads, adhesives
4. My favourite colours to work with at the moment are..Teal, brown and red
5. What kind of themes do you often scrap? I have been enjoying scrapping my DD's classic sayings. She is at the age where she keeps coming out with the funniest things.
6. Where do you scrap?  My scrap space is in my bedroom, no chance of a dedicated room with all my brood of kids!!
7. What is your scrapping process?  I usually pick out the products and then start to see where they lead me.  Then I tend to put work on the layers and find bits and pieces sitting around my table (since it is always messy) until I achieve something I like.
8. 8.      My favourite food is.. Chocolate!!
9. 9.      My top 3 favourite tools are.. my guillotine trimmer, fiskars scissors, distress tool
10. 10.   I get my inspiration from.. galleries, advertisments, colours
11. 11.   Describe a Technique you used on your project this week.. I felt the urge to do a Finnabair inspired steampunk layout, but more in my shabby chic feminine style.  So I used heaps of texture paste, paint, gel medium and mists.

Lots Of Echo Park

I have been so so so busy!  The sort of busy that leaves my house in a less than perfect state! OK, I probably should rewind that last statement as my house is never perfect, I have 5 kids, so that becomes an impossible dream!  So what I am really saying, I have been so busy that my house is worse than normal! LOL!  You see I got all my Aussie Scrap Source briefs and for some reason, I lack the ability to go, OK that isn't due until this date, no I have this compulsion to do it all immediately as it all feels like the deadlines are imminent!  Needless to say, this is a peculiar and stressful way of thinking.  On the upside I am now up to date with deadlines until the end of April now! LOL!

So what has all this frantic work produced? Well I can actually show you a couple of the LO's here!

This one I used Echo Park - Little Boy range of papers. Love that intense look on Ashtons face as he aims up the basketball ring.

Next we had to do a LO about our children's childhood compared to our childhood. So lots and lots of journaling.  It really is a whole different way of creating when you have to focus on a lot of journaling. For this one I also used Echo Park papers.

Just because I was already flat out busy creating.... I decided to do a LO for The Color Room!  It has been quite a few weeks since I last did a LO for The Color Room, but I adored the palette and also wanted to use some new...wait you guessed it... Echo Park papers! LOL!  So I created this very pink number!

So that is my very pink creation! Had so much fun doing this!

Now why we are on The Color Room..... did you know that this Friday we are up to our 50th Palette! Can not believe how time has flown by!  So we have a very special day planned!  We will be having a blog hop for the reveal instead of the Layouts being up on the main page!!

We have also had a bit of drama in our house over the last fortnight!  Lachlan dislocated and broke his finger!!  It was not a pleasant experience at all.  We have had a follow up appointment with the fracture clinic at the hospital and it is all healing well, so that is good.  Lachlan will probably always have a pinky finger that sits a bit further out than normal but other than that it should be fine. So this is what his hand looked like straight after he did it. Just a quick pic from my i-phone. It was pretty obvious something was wrong!

Cameron turns 11 today! Yes, my boys are growing up so fast and before I am ready for it they will be getting thier licenses for sure!  OK that is just so scary and it is still 3 years away for Lachlan and 5 years for Cameron, but I know how quickly those years will go as it seems like yesterday Kaitlyn was born and she will be 4 in July!!
