No Rest....

As the quote goes...there is no rest for the wicked!  Well I must be really bad!  Mind you most of it was by choice!  For some reason I decided to wash every sheet, pillowcase and quilt in the house all on the one day!!  That is no small task in a household of 6 people!  It would usually be a progressive job, doing one bed at a time over the entire week!  I was so happy when it was all done.  But wait.... there is more!  I also cleaned up all 3 bedrooms and the kitchen hutch, vacuumed all the floors, cleaned the toilet and bathroom and felt thoroughly organised by the end of the day.  Correction all of that, plus the grocery shopping was completed over 2 days!  I even cleaned out the drawers in the boys room and packaged up the clothes that were no longer in their size!  I tell you, I was on a roll!  And if that wasn''t enough.....I sneaked in time while Miss K was asleep and whipped up this LO for the CCG #98 Challenge!

  This was supposed to have dewy green in it as well, but it looked far more like light blue and....well....it never made it onto this LO!

Here is last weeks CCG #97 Challenge.  I just adore the colours of this LO and I loved these pics as well.  Loved the prima diecut bird as well as the hambly transparency swirl.  Printed Papers were CBX (an old limited edition line that I purchased ages ago).

 

Like I said I have been a busy girl... I have another LO to share with you!  This is the one that I made while I was at the Heartkids fundraiser at Kates place!  I have to admit that I am chicken when it comes to rubons as I am always paranoid that I am going to stuff it up and ruin my LO.  Well, my new trick is to rub them onto transparency first and then cut around them. I know it is a bit fiddly but it does allow a lot more flexibility while designing a LO and no chance of me ruining the whole thing!  The flowers on this were all rubons!

 

OK, for fear of sounding like a late night infomercial.....I also managed to scrap a class LO for the shop and a paper challenge LO last night for SM.  Then this morning I created the accent for this challenge as well.  How the heck did I manage to squeeze all that into a week along with work and playing with the kids!  However I did it....I''m feeling good for doing so!

I also wanted to say a HUGE congrats to Kerry Murray on coming second in the Prima build a book contest.  I am just so happy for you.

Now I must get back to some more scrapping as I have another deadline I have to work to.....like I said, No rest for the wicked!

Quick Update

I have to share this about mister E!!  He turned around and asked Paul..."Daddy, are you getting older?"  "yes I am" he says.  Ethan: "That means you are going to die soon Daddy!"  ????????  Gee, you really have to wonder about kid logic at times!

Kaitlyn has added ''dog'' to her repitoire of words this week.  She also says shoe now as well.  She is trying to say so much more each and every day.

OK, not much else happening, except I hope to be able to attend Kates Heartkids fundraising event on Sunday, so lets hope I can wrangle that.  Other than that, life is just plodding along!

A big week...

Well, a lot can happen in a week!  On Wednesday I caught up with the lovely Chris Millar and her family who were over here for a wedding!  It was lovely chatting with both Chris and Jason and their girls are beautiful as well.  Kate and Steph were also at the get together and it is always fun to catch up with those two.  My goodness Chelsea looks amazing for a little girl who has had such major surgery so recently!  What a little trooper!  I got this pic of all the kids together. (Kate only had Chelsea and Georgia with her and I had Ethan and Kaityln only as the other 2 boys were at school, while Steph just had Madison as Emma was at school as well)

 

On Thursday it was the boys sports day at school.  OK I have to admit that I don''t have future olympians but they still are very cute!  It was quite a warm day and by the end of it I was well and truly sick to death of flies!  But the funniest part of the day was the preschoolers race!  Ethan and Kaitlyn both had a go at this.  WHile I am concentrating on little miss getting over the line I hear calls of ''stop, come back'' and then laughter from the crowd, followed by cheering and calls of keep going.  I look up from Miss K to see 4 little pre-schooler boys half way around the 400m track (Ethan was 1 of them) and those little legs on all 4 boys kept going right the way around until they had done a full lap!  Mind you, while I was concentrating on Mr E and his mammoth feat, Miss K had then trotted almost up to the 100m line, she thought she was capable of a lap as well!  I dutifully chased after her and brought her back!   What a day!

On the scrapping front, I have decided I need to do more than just my CBX DT stuff, so I have begun to do the challenges on the  Colour Combo Blog ! In fact I have done 4 LO''s this week!!!!!  I haven''t done that for a very long time! I will share a couple now:

This week also marked the announcement of a major decision I have made.  We officially put Scrapbook Station on the market.  In light of previous posts, I have come to the decision that I really need to spend more time with my kids.  They are only young once and you don''t get a chance for a do over, it really is a case of get it right the first time!  I feel like Ethans first 5 years rushed by so fast that it is barely a blink of an eye and as for Kaitlyn,  I cant believe she will be 16 months old on the 17th of this month!  I want to spend more time with them, play with them and not feel so stressed out on a day off that I have to do all the household chores and can''t just sit and play with them.  So this is the start of a new chapter in my life.  I will be a SAHM once the business is sold or by June 30 next year, which ever comes first!  I haven''t been a SAHM for almost 10 years!  I have returned to work almost immediately after the birth of the last 3 kids, Lachlan was the only baby that had me for a full year!  Now lets hope I can stick to a mighty strict budget! LOL!

Out of the Mouths of Babes

How is it that the simple lyrics of a song can be transformed into the cutest thing when sung by an innocent pre-schooler!  Ethan has provided me with  a real gem!  I have no idea where he has heard Maddona's, Like a Virgin, but he walks around the house singing it!    A part of me cringes as he sings away in his cute, fairly tuneful little voice, but as the words emerge from his mouth I have to stifle a chuckle every time...."Like a surgeon, cut for the very first time" repeated over and over just makes me giggle and I have no intention of telling him what the words really are!  Mind you I am still puzzled as to where he has heard the song as it is such an old one and I certainly never play it and I can't even remember hearing it on the radio lately.  All I can figure is that he has got it off another child at kindy who thinks he's a bit of a smarty pants!  Oh well.

I do have the new Pink album and that has been playing in the car!  Ethan has taken a shine to the lyrics of one of her songs and sings it over and over.  "This used to be a fun house, but now its full of evil clowns!"  Obvioulsy the idea of evil clowns appeals to him, no fear or fobias of clowns in this little boy and once again he just sounds so darn cute singing it!  I keep asking him if he is an evil clown!  He just laughes with one of those laughs that make you wonder if he really is!!

Ethan has also lost his first baby tooth!  He fell over in his bedroom and hit his mouth!  Needless to say, there was blood everywhere and a tooth no longer in his mouth!  I had no idea it was even loose, but thankfully a new tooth is pushing its way through so the bump didn't knock it out prematurely!

Kaitlyn has added to her teeth and her vocabulary!  She now has her first 4 molars as well as the top 2 eye teeth!  My goodness they just don't stop coming!!  Hopefully this whole teething business stops soon! She now has 14 teeth in total!  And she knows how to use them! 

The little miss has started to regularly say,  ooooohhh yuck!  Lachlan had brocken the plastick container with olives in it and made a bit of a mess, so while he was cleaning it up, Kaitlyn stood there pointing and repeatedly saying oooohhh yuck, oohh yuck!  Very funny!  She now says more, yes and no as well as bath, uh oh, and hot.  I'm sure she thinks she is saying a whole lot more to us, but for now it has to be filed in the 'gobbledy goop' department until I can decifer it a little better!  We were out for tea on Friday night and she was in fine form with her talking, complete with picking up a piece of sausage, saying hot, hot, eating it and then proceeding to spit it out, saying ohhh yuck, then followed by picking up the pieces and tossing them on the floor with a uhoh! Slightly naughty, but oh so cute!

I certainly know I have boys that are getting older....major attitude at times!  We received an email from Lachlans teacher, requiring us to see her about his behaviour!!  Oh, cringe, shudder, whince!  If his at home behaviour is anything to go by, I'm dreading what he is doing at school!  I find it so hard to reconcile the sweet loving child that he can be to the angry little monster he can become when provoked!  We haven't even reached the teen years!  Oh, preserve us!

In scrapping news, I had another LO on the Chatterbox blog the other week.  My Chatterbox work is about all I am doing lately!  Sad but true!  If it wasn't for the deadlines I would be a very redundant scrapbooker!  Here is the LO

 

And just for good measure, here is a LO I haven't shared here yet.  I have a love affair with yellow!  It jsut makes me happy!
