It has been quite a while since I took some pictures of the kids, and I am mindful of this since Christmas is just around the corner and I always give the Grandparents a photo book of photos for the year. I needed some September photos! I still have to get some pictures of Ethan and Cameron, who were to engrossed in their Xbox game to be bothered joining me outside! Next time I will just have to drag them!
OK I go a bit overboard with pictures of Miss K, but seriously she is so photogenic it is hard to not just keep taking pictures of her!!
Lachlan was actually trying to avoid looking at me in this shot, but I don't care as I adore the effect of the photo. It seems more like a stolen moment this way. Below, he is still avoiding me!!
How cute is this little chap? Love him to pieces!!
Love this last shot. So wish I had them all coming at me, not just 3 of them, but I still love this fun photo to pieces! OK enough family stuff, onto the scrappy stuff.
I had a little play with a layered mixed media canvas a few weeks back and had so much fun I really wanted to make another one that would match the colours of Kaitlyns room. I don't think I am particularly "arty" in a paint and drawing way, but with Prima's masks and a few different mediums, you can achieve really arty results easily! Besides, it is so much fun to feel a bit like an artist for a while!
So this is what I created! You can see there are a lot of layers making up this canvas and a lot of mediums to create the different effects here. What is even more fun is that this entire canvas was created with scraps of my Prima papers, kind of like a "green" project, saving my scraps from the bin!
I have created this video showing how this project was completed in my usual super speedy mode!! If only I could create this fast but 20x speed may not work in real time! LOL! I hope you enjoy it.
You can see by the addition of the muslin for the fairies dress that another element of texture has been created, rather than just using paper pieces for it.
It was rather messy and fiddly to cut and ink and slightly distress all the little grass blades and lines in the mushroom, but the effort is worth it when it is finished as it is the little details that give it a lot more character.
I also had a LO in Scrapbook Creations a while back. It was in the Diva Style Files for Feminine Chic, which is probably a good summary of my style!
I have some exciting news to share very soon! Yes, more exciting scrappy news, like I haven't had enough of that lately! Feel like I am living the dream right now! Thanks for stopping by, I always appreciate the comments and I do try and respond, but this last 2 weeks has been pretty insane due to alluded to good news. Hopefully things will settle down this week and I can get back to normal programming!
