Now, I may get close to being up to date with my Color Room projects here on the blog. This week we were back in his room and the colours were fabulous. I found this picture and sent it through to Lydell for creating a palette out of. I loved how fresh this looked!
Hmmmm not that I would set up a picnic at the beach!! The sand would do my head in!!!
Here is my LO. I thought I might try the sketch this week, I put down one piece of paper and then went off on my own tangent!!! That is what I love about sketches, they can be the catalyst for something entirely different, you dont have to stick to them, but they may be just the shove you need to start getting ideas on a page.
I did a lot of hand stitching on this layout to give it a bit more definition. I adore the look of hand stitching on a page, in fact prefer it to machine stitching, but boy it is time consuming.
Now after sharing this nice stuff, how about some gore!! LOL! Saturday night was supposed to be a fun night with the guys going out together and the respective wives getting together here with all the kids for a nice evening of chat. Well 5pm came and I got a phone call to tell me that Cameron (who was on a Pathfinder camp with Lachlan) had cut his knee on a tree stump.
Now I was told in the first phone call, very casually, you probably need to come and pick him up. We think he needs the cut properly cleaned and may need stitches. I am thinking, no biggie, boys cut themselves all the time, but because of the person calling I did think it could be more serious than what it was as he has a tendancy to play things down a bit.
I was just about ready to drive up to Mt Crawford, literally putting on my shoes when another call comes in. "We have decided to take him directly to the local hospital, he really needs stitches." OK now I am a bit more worried, so I tell them I will meet them there. Keep in mind I had 3 friends over (Lydell, Miranda and Siann) at my house, who oh so graciously offered to look after my other 3 kids while I went out to get Cameron. For this I was very greatful as it meant I wouldnt have to chase after a toddler and hold a squirming baby for the duration of time it would take to fix up Cam.
When I got to the little country hospital, this is what Cams knee looked like, after it had been cleaned up a bit. Sorry the photo is fuzzy but I was just impressed that I was able to use the camera on my phone (which I had never used before) and email it through to Paul!
Then the doctor had to cut off bits of the flesh in order to stitch it back together neatly!! That was a little bit gross, seeing her cut bits off with surgical scissors. 10 stitches later to repair the damage. He has to take antibiotics to reduce the chance of infection and isnt allowed to run for a few weeks and even when they take out the stitches, the doctor suggested they take out every second stitch and leave a few in there a little bit longer, just because it is a knee and he is a 10YO boy who may try and do too much on it too quickly. So here is is after being stitched up.
Much better now! Poor kid is in a lot of pain with it today though! The adrenalin has worn off and now he feels the throbbing pain. Of all the children in my family Cam is the toughest. He didnt cry at all, he was brave the entire time and he barely complains now. He is one tough kid, but my heart aches for him as I know he is in a lot of pain. Now I just have to keep him off it for long enough for it to heal properly!!
Now that I have thoroughly grossed you out! Thanks for Looking!!!

Congrats again and you should have put warning before you posted that picture, I almost fainted. my knees are still weak...

My God! I had to go back to the top the remember the first part - your photos are shocking! I'm very happy for you about the Prima Flowergirl position - well deserved! The layout is just fabulous - very inspiring.
I am extremely thankful that I had a fairly calm DD and no boys. Your photos make me more than a little sick to my stomach. I hope your DS is ok - this is really awful looking.
