Once again, Christmas Day rolled around and we did our usual family run around. The day starts with the early morning wake up call! Why can't children sleep in on Christmas morning!!! Cam got a camera, Ethan a remote control car and Kaitlyn a new doll. Lachlan's gift is a little different this year as he opted to go to summer camps so he really didn't have anything to show for it on the morning, but his time will come! The older boys were given a lot of money this year for Xmas, which in a lot of ways is far better as they can spend it on something they really want. Ethan has already bought a new game for the Xbox, which took up half of his money. Lachlan wants to get an ipod, which will take up every single cent and Cam is still figuring out what he wants. The grandparents (on DH's side) thoroughly spoilt the kids once again, buying them a huge trampoline and I mean HUGE as well as bikes for all the boys! Gee they are a spoilt bunch.
Every year one of the highlights for our kids is swimming in my Aunties pool! This year was no exception. They had a great time, diving in and trying to dunk each other! As my photographic evidence shows!
We had better not forget the little fish that's eyes match the colour of the water! He gets so cold so quickly and even his little lips turn blue!! And it wouldn't be a complete post without a pic of Miss K! Poor little treasure was so sick it was'nt funny!
Just prior to Christmas I received a BIG surprise! I certainly wasn't expecting the phone call I got from Casey at FK Creative Paper. Apparently they hadn't notified the winners of the Awards for Excellence in the few weeks following the cut off of the competition (back Aug 31). I had hoped for a phone call in those couple of weeks after that date, but none came. I wasn't fussed by it, just thought that there were heaps of amazing scrappers out there who obviously had better entries than myself and i would look forward to seeing the mag come out. Well Casey could have knocked me over with a feather when she rang 2 weeks ago and told me I had been chosen for the Elite Team for 2009! OK, I admit it, there was a tear in my eye for the joy this news brought! I didn't enter last year and almost didn't this year either, but I am certainly glad I did now. The LO's I created were just ones I had been doing for my albums, mostly Kaitlyn's, nothing was created with the comp in mind so it just came together. I still love all the LO's I used. I also want to say congratulations to Mel Nunn, Jo Carey and Catherine Pineda on making the Elite Team as well and I look forward to working with them over the coming year. Congrats also to the individual award winners, especially another South Aussie girl, Kathie Link, who won an award for photography. I will share my LO's a little later as the Awards Issue of the magazine has only just hit the shelves!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are ready for a fantastic year in 2009!
