Sometimes we just need to stop and appreciate the little things of day to day life which go on around us. I often find that I am so busy, I forget to really soak up those little things and enjoy those little moments, instead becoming flustered by the kids ignoring instructions and being late for school, or the mess DH and the kids have made. So often life revolves around trying to keep everything perfect, that we forget to enjoy the little pieces of treasure that pass our way each and every day.
Now, with that being said I wanted to record some of the antics of my little (slightly evil) angel Ethan! I love all my boys dearly, but Ethan is the first to really be a Mummies boy, and I love it!!! I adore the way he runs to the door the moment I come home with arms outstretched yelling "Mummy" at the top of his voice! The other completely precious thing he does is always says "I love you Mummy" when I tuck him in at night! This really does melt my heart. The other boys always wanted Daddy to tuck them in, so I never got the same amount of attention from them. Mind you, bit by bit I am dragging them back to me with persistent, I love you boys.....now what do you say to Mummy!!!! Of which comes the response, I love you too Mummy!
Ethan is soooo funny, when he is being a bit of a Daddy's boy, I tell him he's turning to the dark side of which he now chirps up "Dark side Mummy". What is the dark side Ethan? To which he responds with Darth Vader breathing and the actions of weilding a light sabre! How cute is that! Other really cute things include.....Lachlan and Cameron share a bedroom and Ethan has his own room. When we tell the boys to go to bed, E runs into the boys room and hides under the quilt. When we try to drag him out he reaches out to Cameron, yelling "help me Cam, help me!" and they all clammer to keep him in the bed! We usually succeed in having E go to sleep in his own bed, but last night he snuck out of his room, piled up all the dirty laundry outside the boys door so he could open it and then crept into bed with Cam. We found him there around 10pm, sound asleep, looking positively adorable, so we let him stay and he slept the whole night through, pleased as punch with himself in the morning! We may have created a problem for ourselves though!
Cam has also been up to some funny antics at school lately. His teacher finds him very amusing as he comes out with some very funny things at times. The other day his teacher said, "Cameron, I'm a little confused as to why you are out of your seat?" Cameron promptly sits back down in his seat, then turns to the girl he sits with and says "she's always confused!" Needless to say the teacher got a good chuckle out of that one!
Other things that I really want to take the time to appreciate include my DH. We've been married almost 11 years now and quite often it is easy to take each other for granted. Well, sometimes I need to stop just living life and see what a wonderful man I have married. Over the last fortnight I have really come to appreciate the amazing man I married all those years ago. I love him even more now than when we first were married. He is truly my soul-mate. Words can not adequately express the depth of love I have for him. O'kay, enough with the soppy hoo ha! You get the picture!
On the scrapping front I completed a 12x12 album that I will be teaching over 3 classes at Scrapbook Station. 20 pages completed in less than a week! I can't believe I was able to whip it up that fast! I have discovered I love scrap pads! I used the K & Company Scrap pad to go (trends). It was so easy to work with and suited the pictures I had from my trip to Pt Lincoln. DH loved this album too, he felt it was what scrapping is all about, telling a whole story rather than just random pages pieced together in an album. I will get around to scanning some of the pages and sharing here. I will be making up detailed notes for the class, complete with images of every page and paper dimensions for re-creating these pages. Once this is done, and the classes are booked out at the shop (the first class is fully booked and the schedule hasn't gone out!) I will be selling complete kits on the Scrapbook Station site so others can easily re-create this album. Now I just want to get another paper pack and do another album like this as it was soooo much fun!
Well, if you have got the the end of that....give yourselves a big pat on the back! I really just wanted to record a lot of that for myself!
BTW got the latest FK today and have to say how fabulous Steph's article on the Scrap Queen organiser was! Just divine.
Also, huge congrats to Lydell Quin on her first LO in this issue, it really is such a gorgeous page!
